RESET Performance is a student athlete training program in Calera, Alabama for athletes ages 6 to 18 in every sport. Membership is $250 per month and includes three 45-minute coached sessions each week covering speed, acceleration, strength, power, agility, mobility and movement quality. Athletes are grouped by age and stage of development, and programming shifts between in-season and offseason.
Every athlete is retested every month by Henry Davis, PT, DPT using force plates and timing gates, which is what separates RESET from a typical speed-and-agility gym. High school-aged members may use one of their three weekly sessions for a Pilates class. Single sessions are available as a $25 drop-in. RESET trains athletes from Calera, Alabaster, Helena, Montevallo, Jemison, Chelsea and across Shelby County at 8258 US Hwy 31.

Two Training Groups

A 9-year-old and a junior don't train the same way.

Athletes are grouped by age and stage of development. Same coaches, same testing, same facility, very different session.

Learn to move

The job at this age is coordination, athleticism and clean movement patterns. Not early specialization and not a scaled-down adult workout.

What We Develop

Structured athletic development. Not a workout.

Every block is programmed toward specific athletic qualities and progressed based on what testing shows.
01
Speed
Acceleration mechanics, top-end speed and sprint technique.
02
Strength
Age-appropriate strength built on clean movement patterns.
03
Power
Explosiveness, jump ability and rate of force development.
04
Agility
Change of direction, deceleration and reactive footwork.
05
Mobility
Change of direction, deceleration and reactive footwork.
06
Body Control
Core stability, coordination and single-leg control.
07
Durability
Addressing asymmetries and deficits linked to injury risk.
08
Confidence
Athletes who trust their bodies compete differently.
Monthly Objective Testing

Coaching plus clinical movement expertise.

Most performance programs coach the sport skill. RESET coaches the athlete underneath it. Training runs under the direction of Henry Davis, PT, DPT, which means faulty movement patterns, mobility restrictions and strength deficits get identified and addressed instead of getting loaded on top of.
That clinical layer is also the safety net. If an athlete shows up with pain or a history of injury, RESET can determine on day one whether performance training or physical therapy is the right starting point, and both happen in the same building.
Why RESET Is Different

We don't just train.
We measure.

Once a month, Henry retests your athlete on the same battery they were baselined on. Same tests, same equipment, same conditions, which is the only way a number actually means something month over month.
A month is also long enough for training to produce real change. Parents get the numbers. Coaches get the direction. Nobody has to take “he’s getting faster” on faith.

Measured With

Force plate testing for jump height, peak power and left-right asymmetry. Timing gates for acceleration, sprint and agility splits. Hands-on movement assessment.

Verified By

Henry Davis, PT, DPT. A physical therapist’s name on the testing is what separates a real measurable from a number somebody timed on a phone.

Younger athletes are tested on age-appropriate movement and athletic measures. Older athletes are tested on sprint, jump and asymmetry metrics.

Programming

In-season and offseason are not the same job.

Training a three-sport athlete in October the same way you train them in June is how kids finish a season slower than they started it. RESET programs around the competitive calendar.
In-Season

Hold what you built

The goal is not adding load. It is arriving at Friday healthy, fast and fresh.
Offseason

Build the gap

This is where measurables move. Bigger blocks, real progression, aggressive testing.

Before You Come In

Your athlete's first session

Nothing to prepare and nothing to buy. Here is exactly what day one looks like.
What to wear
Athletic clothes and training shoes. Cleats for Saturday field sessions if your athlete has them, turf shoes or sneakers work fine.
What to bring
A water bottle. That is it.
When to arrive
Ten minutes early on the first day so we can get a baseline before the group starts.
Can parents stay?
Yes. Parents are welcome to watch any session. We would rather you see the coaching than wonder about it.
What happens first
Henry runs a baseline movement screen and a short round of testing. Every number after that gets compared back to it.
When you will see change
Movement quality shifts first, usually within a few weeks. Speed and power numbers follow with consistent attendance.
Getting Started

Questions Parents Ask

Performance FA

Student athletes ages 6 to 18. Athletes train in two groups: a developmental group for ages 6 to 12 and a competitive group for ages 13 to 18, so training is appropriate for age and stage of development.

Membership is $250 per month for three 45-minute coached sessions each week, including monthly performance testing. A single drop-in session is $25.
All of them. Football, baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, wrestling, cheer and tumbling, golf, tennis, cross country, swimming and dance. Speed, power, change of direction and durability transfer across every sport.
Yes, and most should. In-season programming maintains speed and power at a low fatigue cost so athletes finish the season as fast as they started. Tell us the game and practice schedule and we program around it.
Henry Davis, PT, DPT retests every athlete once a month using force plates, timing gates and hands-on movement assessment. The battery can include movement quality, 10-yard split, pro agility, countermovement jump, broad jump, peak power, single-leg performance and left-to-right asymmetry. Athletes are compared to their own baseline, and results are shared with parents and used to guide what gets programmed next.
45 minutes, three times per week.
Yes. A $25 drop-in lets your athlete go through a full session before you commit to a membership.
High school-aged members and older may use one of their three weekly sessions for a Pilates class. Drop-in sessions do not include Pilates.
No. Beginners are common and coaching is scaled to the athlete in front of us.
Multi-sport athletes are a good fit and often benefit most. Give us the full year calendar and programming shifts as seasons change.
Tell us before the first session. RESET can assess your athlete and determine whether performance training or physical therapy is the right starting point, and both are available in the same facility under the same clinical oversight.
Yes. Contact RESET at 205-846-7210 to discuss team and school training opportunities.
